ME AND MY WORLD

A community or environmental project designed to learn more about the world about them.

This is an opportunity to get invovled in your community, helping with things you care about.  Your project can be part of a team from your school, or something you do already.  This can be maintaining a school garden or community garden, helping younger children in your youth group or volunteering at a Retirement home. 

MThe project can be delivered by the club or by an outside agency on behalf of the club. In addition, participants can be accredited for work they are already involved in within the community. Examples include:

  • Tenner challenge
  • Cake sale
  • My community (emergencies services)
  • Carol singing at OAP home
  • Eco schools
  • Food collection for Church Harvest Festival
  • Visiting places of interest such as museums and castles

After going to the carehome, I feel a little bit more confident talking to the residents but I still had fun playing play your cards right.
I learned more about dementia and how to talk to someone with dementia.
